Experience and Background:
Dr. Lori Mize graduated with her Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree in 2004 from the University of Central Arkansas and is a Board-Certified Specialist in Women’s Health Physical Therapy. She worked as a full-time clinician devoted to women’s & pelvic health and rehabilitation for many years and has worked primarily in academia as a faculty member for the last decade as a core faculty member for physical therapy programs.
Dr. Mize has been a faculty member for the American Physical Therapy Association’s (APTA) Academy of Pelvic Health (APHPT), teaching in the area of pelvic health for many years and has served on the Board of Directors as Vice-President and as the Director of Education for the APHPT. She has previously served on the APHPT’s CAPP-Pelvic Education Committee where she authored and reviewed course materials for the pelvic health series and has served on the International Education Committee. She currently teaches for Evidence in Motion (EIM) in their Pelvic Health Certification Tract and serves as the Chief Education Officer for the PHreedom Foundation for Pelvic Health.
She has a passion for study abroad and service-learning activities for students in physical therapy. Dr. Mize has presented in multiple national and international conferences for pelvic health topics including APTA Combined Sections Meeting (CSM), APTA NEXT Conference, American Urogynecologic Society (AUGS), World Physiotherapy Congress, International Continence Society (ICS), and the International Urogynecological Association (IUGA) to name a few.
Personal Information:
In addition to a passion for clinical practice, Lori has 4 children, 4 grandchildren and is married to her high school sweetheart, Joseph. She lives on the family farm with 5 generations in rural Arkansas. Her hobbies include new adventures, traveling, farm work, hiking and other outdoor activities, gardening, cooking, and reading or watching historical pieces (when she is not chasing babies).
